ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Accountant is responsible for accurate and timely journal entries, financial reporting preparation, and balance sheet reconciliations. This position supports the restaurant location leadership teams and other departments with accounting processing.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU MUST
  • Complete daily, weekly, and fiscal period journal entries covering a variety of areas (including Daily Sales, AR, Payroll, Cash, etc.)
  • Strong ownership over assigned restaurants - Assist restaurant leadership teams and Area Directors with questions on accounting processes, P&Ls, and financial systems
  • Complete restaurant P&L variance and fluctuation analysis connected with budgets, prior years, trends, and actual results
  • Analyze and publish monthly restaurant P&L reports and details
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations across a variety of areas and propose action plans to manage and resolve discrepancies timely.
  • Eagerly support the team to achieve timely publishing of P&Ls
  • Update and/or create robust process documentation of all assigned tasks to ensure effective cross training
  • Proactively mentor and positively support more junior team members
  • Support, prepare, and review requests relating to the year-end audit and income tax filings.
  • Ensure processes are compliant with GAAP and regulatory agencies
  • Prepare requests to support the year-end audit
  • Complete ad hoc projects and reporting for key stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years accounting and financial reporting experience including journal entries, P&L preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit preparation.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong experience with accounting systems - Current systems used include Plate IQ, Compeat RADAR, Fintech, Dynamics Great Plains, Nolan ABR, Concur, and Paytronix
  • Restaurant accounting experience preferred
  • Mix of public and industry accounting experience preferred
  • This role is on-site at our corporate headquarters (The Lab).
